Herpes

Herpes is a common viral infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are two types: HSV-1, which causes oral herpes, and HSV-2, which causes genital herpes. The virus spreads through direct contact with the mouth or genitals of an infected person. Many people with herpes have no symptoms, but it can cause blisters or sores in and around the mouth or on the genitals. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for managing the symptoms and reducing the risk of spreading the virus.
