Kidney Cysts

Kidney cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form on the kidneys. They are common in older adults and usually don't cause any symptoms or health issues. However, large kidney cysts may cause pain, tenderness, or fever, and in rare cases, they can be cancerous. If kidney cysts cause symptoms, medical procedures may be needed to drain or remove them. If a person has a cancerous kidney cyst, they may need surgery to remove the cyst.
