Pancreatic Insufficiency

Pancreatic insufficiency is the inability of the pancreas to produce enough digestive enzymes to break down food and absorb nutrients in the intestines. This can lead to malnutrition, weight loss, and other complications. It is commonly caused by conditions such as chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, or pancreatic or gastrointestinal cancer. Early detection and treatment are important for managing symptoms and preventing further damage to the pancreas.
