Polycystic Liver Disease

Polycystic liver disease (PLD) is a rare genetic condition where noncancerous cysts grow in the liver. Most people with PLD do not have symptoms, but when they do occur, they may include abdominal pain, acid reflux, and shortness of breath. Treatment for PLD may involve medication and surgery to manage the symptoms. This condition typically affects people around the age of 50, and females are more likely to experience symptoms than males.
