Uterine Cancers

Uterine cancer includes cancers that start in the lining of the uterus and those that begin in the muscle and connective tissues. The most common type is endometrial cancer, which affects the inner lining of the uterus. Uterine cancer can also develop in the muscle wall of the uterus. Risk factors include age, obesity, family history, type 2 diabetes, and estrogen imbalance. Symptoms may include abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, pain during urination, fatigue, and weight loss. Early diagnosis is important for successful treatment.
