Bile duct cancer, also known as cholangiocarcinoma, is a rare cancer that affects the bile ducts. These ducts carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder and then to the gut to help with digesting fats. There are three types of cholangiocarcinoma based on where they grow in the bile ducts: intrahepatic, hilar, and distal. Early diagnosis is crucial for better treatment outcomes.
